What players see in the server list
The multiplayer screen shows your server icon and MOTD (message of the day). Polished branding helps friends pick the right realm when they have several entries saved.
Server icon
- Create a 64×64 PNG. Keep the file small (tens of KB, not megabytes).
- Name it exactly
server-icon.png. - Stop the server on panel.glasshosting.com.
- Upload the file to the server root (same folder as
server.properties) via file manager or SFTP. - Start the server. Fully quit and re-add the server in your client if the old icon is cached.
MOTD
- Edit
motd=inserver.properties. - Start simple (plain text first), then add legacy color codes sparingly if you want accent color.
- Avoid huge rainbow spam; some clients truncate aggressively.
- Save, restart, and check the multiplayer list (not only the console).
Take a named backup before experimenting if you are mid-season. See backups before mods.
Verify / done
- Icon appears (or updates after client cache clear) next to your server entry.
- MOTD text matches what you set; no
server.propertiessyntax breakage on boot. - Friends still join with whitelist/EULA unchanged.
